Abadan Refinery
The design of this refinery goes back to 1909 and its FIRST
distillation tower with a capacity of 2500 barrel per day started operation in 1912.
Addition of some new units made this refinery the
largest refinery worldwide in 1955.Abadan refinery was shut down
during the imposed war due to the damages it borne
, but after the war and upon repairing the damaged parts
, was launched with a capacity of 130,000
barrels per day in the first phase of reconstruction and
at presenet is running with a capacity of 400000 barrels
per day.Abadan refinery has an important port for exporting
oil products as well.
This
port being equipped with 8 docks, oil storage, oil loading and mixing machines, marine loading equipments and control laboratory
instrument,is able to harbour oil carriers of up to
48 thousands
tons.
Mahshahr Exporting port
is located at 11 KM distance east of "Imam khomeyni"
port at the entrance of Persian Gulf in a region called
Khour Mussa.
Shazand Arak Refinery
The contract for construction of this refinery was concluded
with foreign companies in 1989. It started operation with a daily capacity of 150,000
barrels in early 1993 . Arak refinery is one of the most advance
and modern refineries in IRAN equipped with latest technology
of the world . Unleaded gasoline is one of the valuable products
of this refinery.
Tabriz Refinery
This Refinery with a nominal capacity of 80,000 barrels a day
started operation in late 1977 under construction of IRANIAN experts .
Despite about twenty bombardment by enemy
forcesduring the "IMPOSED WAR" , it was reconstructed
quickly and with the least possible losses atpresent, upon execution of expansion project, this refinery
produces 112,000 barrels per day.
Esfehan Refinery The primary design of Esfahan
refinery with a capacity of 200000 barrels per day was
carried out in early 1970s by the engineers & Experts of
National Iranian Oil Company. Its
first distillation unit was launched in Feb. 1980 without any interference
of foreign experts and its production capacity was
increased to 280,000 barrels per day by modification
that the Iranian experts made . Re-construction the opertional structure of refinery units increased
the capacity of crude oil refining to 350,000 barrels a
day.
Tehran Refinery
In may 1968, refinery No.1 started operation with a daily capacity
of 85000 barrels. In 1973,theproduction rate increased to 125,000
barrels a day due to some changes in its structure .
The construction of refinery No. 2 started in late 1971 and was
operated in April 1973 with a capacityof 100,000 barrels. Establishing
an emulation bitumen production plant with a capacity of 20 tonsper
hour and insticide product of unit with an annual capacity of
15 million tons are among thefuture plans of this
refinery.
Shiraz Refinery
The planned capacity of Shiraz refinery is 40,000 barrels per day .
This refinery was operatedin 1973. During the imposed war, modification were made
to improve the production methods &raise the number of
products. Design, construction, installation & operation of bitumen
& batterytar production units for the first time in Iran are
among these projects.
Lavan Refinery Complex
The complex was constructed in 1975 in order to produce, gasoil and naphta as the ships fuel. Its
planned capacity is 20,000 barrels per day which has recently increased to
30,000 barrels due toexpansion project. In management, this
complex is subordinate to Shiraz refinery.
Kermanshah Refinery
Kermanshah Refinery was put in
to operation in 1922 with a capacity of 2,000
barrels a day which was increased to 15000 barrels up to
1971.The refinery was inactive from 1980 to 1983 due to
repeated air attacks of the enemy . It was
reactivated after construction of a 172 Km
long pipeline from Afrineh to Kermanshah. At present and upon
modification in its refining system, it runs with a daily
production rate of about 25,000.
